The Kurt Busch Foundation Announces Winner For The Dodge Challenger SRT-8 Charity Car Raffle
September 30, 2009
Mooresville, North Carolina – September 30, 2009 – This evening The Kurt Busch Foundation announced live on ESPN’s NASCAR Now program that Highlands Ranch, Colorado resident Brian Sauber won the 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT-8.
Sauber saw the vehicle in person while attending the Southern 500 in Darlington, SC. “My brothers and I went to Darlington to celebrate one of my brothers 40th birthday. We did everything - - camped in the infield, watched the races and took in all the sights at the track. That’s where we saw the car displayed at The Kurt Busch Foundation display. I told Kristy at the display I was going to buy a ticket when I got home and I’m glad I followed through! My brothers were ribbing me a bit, but I believe in what Kurt’s doing.”
Sauber was stunned when he received the call that he had won the car. “I couldn’t believe I had won. I must say my first thought was to call my brothers and let them know…”
The new, silver 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT-8 received a one-of-a-kind paint scheme design by PPG master painter and instructor Paul Stoll and was painted by renowned street rod painter Charley Hutton of Charley Hutton Color Studio. “This is one fabulous car,” said Kurt Busch, driver of the #2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger for Penske Racing. “I am so excited for Brian. I was told he only bought one ticket. That’s great he was able to participate and help support the kids at The Victory Junction Gang Camp.”
All proceeds from the charity car raffle have gone to The Kurt Busch Foundation and will benefit The Kurt Busch Superdome which is an indoor, climate controlled, sports facility located at The Victory Junction Gang Camp in Randleman, NC.
